QQQ – TLT Strategy (With backtest and trading rules) A Bond and Nasdaq 100 trading strategy.
This strategy trades the NASDAQ 100 and long-term treasury bonds from the long side, using the ticker codes QQQ and TLT. We include interest rates because growth stocks on NASDAQ are sensitive to rate changes. The trading rules are displayed on the screen. Over a 20-year period, the capital grows from $100,000 to $1.2 million, with drawdowns being small and short-lived. Drawdowns exceed 20% only twice, despite being invested 58% of the time. In comparison, the maximum drawdown for buy-and-hold NASDAQ 100 was over 55%.
